The Africa Christian Health Associations Platform (ACHAP) is a networking forum for Christian Health Associations and Networks from Sub-Saharan Africa. The forum has been established through the inspiration and support of World Council of Churches. The core functions of the forum are coordinated by a Secretariat Office hosted by the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK) in Nairobi. The forum’s core mandate is to facilitate networking and communication among Christian Health Associations (CHAs) and to create a stronger voice in advocacy. Various Christian Health Associations in Africa have a form of Christian Health Association or a Faith Based Group.

The decision to establish the Platform Secretariat was made during the CHAs Biennial Conference which was held on 16-18th January 2007 at the Paradise Resort in Bagamoyo, Tanzania. Membership to the platform is open to various Christian Health Associations and Networks from African countries. The platform secretariat has a bi-lingual Secretariat Officer whose main task is to facilitate communication and networking among the CHAs and with collaborating/development partners. In addition the Secretariat supports efforts to profile the work, potential, knowledge and experiences of Christian Health Associations.

The Platform Secretariat facilitates translation of all important documents and publications into both English and French and ensures their dissemination to the respective CHAs. The Secretariat maintains an updated Directory of the various CHAs from Africa and has assisted in planning for exchange visits among CHAs from different countries. The Platform Secretariat coordinates the production and dissemination of a quarterly electronic bulletin known as the Africa CHA's Bulletin. The Bulletin, which is produced in both English and French, is available from this website.

The Platform Secretariat is also mandated to facilitate planning and management of logistics for the CHAs Biennial Conference in collaboration with the hosting country CHA. In 2008, the Platform Secretariat with the assistance of CHAK and CSSC successfully hosted the Sub-Saharan Africa Global Fund-FBO's Conference at the Kunduchi Beach Hotel in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania on 16-18th April with funding from Global Fund and the World Council of Churches- WCC. The Secretariat coordinated, planned, and mobilized resources for the 2011 CHAs Biennial Conference in Accra Ghana.
